Why doesn't my store carry Snow Balm?We are working on building relationships with Drug Wholesalers, etc.., but it takes time and a little help from you. If you would like to purchase Snow Balm from your local pharmacy or store, please contact that store or pharmacy and request that they carry Snow Balm. Relay your experiences and how our product compares to the nationally marketed items. Independent pharmacies are usually the easiest avenue for getting our product in your area. However, we do distribute to Rite Aid, Happy Harry's and Wal-Mart stores in our area, so it does not hurt to ask the large chain stores too. After making contact with your pharmacy manager, please relay our information and then email us that persons name and phone number so we may contact them with our product information. This process does take time so you may want to place a small order while we work on getting Snow Balm into your area. With your help we will be able to help children and adults everywhere who suffer from diaper rash, chaffing, and minor skin irritations.

Who makes Snow Balm?Snow Balm is a unique formula developed by pediatrician Dr. David Snow Howard over 50 years ago. Snow Balm was a labor of love, because he was trying to perfect a treatment for his own children. His children had been suffering from diaper rash and he was not satisfied by the selection of ointments that were available on the market. So he went to the task of developing an ointment of his own. Upon developing this formula and using it on his own children, he saw how well his formula had worked and decided that he should make this diaper rash ointment available to his patients and friends.

What is Snow Balm?Snow Balm is a skin protectant. The main purpose is to relieve diaper rash and dry skin. Snow Balm also works well on diaper rash, rashes from incontinence, dry skin, minor skin irritations, chaffing, and severe chapped hands and feet.

What makes Snow Balm different ?
Snow Balm is a unique formula developed by pediatrician Dr. David
Snow Howard over 50 years ago. Dr. Howard was trying to perfect a
treatment for his own children who had been suffering from severe
diaper rash episodes, which were proving incurable by any cream
available on the market at the time. Because of the extreme personal
nature of the case, creating a fast and effective ointment was of the
utmost importance to him.
Snow Balm incorporates the ingredient Zinc Oxide, which is
recommended by most pediatricians. What makes our formula different
from other ointments with Zinc Oxide is in the percentages. We use
8.5% Zinc Oxide, whereas other available ointments contain Zinc Oxide
levels of up to 40%, which is the maximum allowable limit by the FDA.
We have found that with the lower percentage there is sufficient Zinc
Oxide to heal the rash without causing further redness and skin
irritation. Ointments with higher levels have proven to put babies
with sensitive skin under undue stress and soreness. Parents claim
that using products which contain these high levels of Zinc Oxide
caused their baby to cry and show obvious signs of discomfort.
Snow Balm is a skin protectant, which makes it a superior moisture
barrier. We use the highest quality ingredients such as Lanolin, an
all-natural additive renowned for its healing powers with no
additional chemical aids.
Snow Balm was designed to work with your baby’s skin. Our formula
applies with ease and moisturizes as it protects. The unique formula
allows absorption into the skin, which creates fewer residues to
clean up at each diaper change. Many ointments are very thick and
create a greasy film, which needs to be cleaned off via excess
scrubbing with detergents causing further skin breakdown. Snow Balm’s
formula absorbs and cleans up easily with just a little warm water to
rinse it away.
Snow Balm also includes an ingredient not usually found in other
diaper rash ointments called Thymol Iodide. This ingredient contains
a mild antiseptic that, when combined with the formula’s other
components, heals the rashes that perpetually elude other creams.
One other difference remains that sets our product apart from other
available ointments and this is that Snow Balm’s formula is kept
simple containing only few ingredients and no added artificial
fragrances, meaning it can be used as a daily protectant with very
little chance of allergic reactions. -
What are the ingredients?
Snow Balm's effectiveness is its simplicity.
Active Ingredient: Zinc Oxide (8.5% , a smaller percentage than most other brands, making it effective enough to heal the rash without causing extra redness and irritation)
Inactive Ingredients: Lanolin (ultra pure hospital grade), Olive Oil, Petrolatum, and Thymol Iodide
Snow Balm formula does not include artificial fragrances, making our formula easier on children and adults who suffer from allergies and sensitive skin.
